Meeting June 11, 2009 – Speaker Frank Costabile – Costabile & Steffens P.C.
Today we had a great meeting, a good group today with a few visitors as well. Bill spoke today in our Education portion of the meeting about the anatomy of a 60 second infomercial, which BNI terms as your introduction at every meeting giving you a chance to tell everyone who you are, what you do, and what type of referrals you are looking for. We always say “Be Specific” which is true, but another good thing to remember is to change your speech up as if you repeat the same things every week people have a tendency to tune you out. Perhaps use a recent experience or new customer to specifically point to a particular service you offer, that your BNI sales team would not have known about.

Costabile & Steffens PC is a full service accounting firm that has been providing proactive tax planning and tax preparation services to their individual and corporate clients for over 30 years. Our goal is striving to make your life less taxing. |
Today Frank spoke about the changes in direction his company is taking for the good and reviewed the services that his firm has to offer. These services include Bookkeeping, Monthly Sales Tax, Quarterly Payroll Taxes, Tax Preparation and Analysis, Payroll, and Operations. Although no new laws have been passed since last we heard from Frank, he provided everyone a list of Federal Tax Changes for year 2009 and their comparisons to last year and the year before. A few examples of this is that currently the Personal/Dependent Exemption has raised from $3500 to $3650, and the current standard mileage allowance is at .55 cents per mile.
Some new things Frank mentioned today is their current growth and their need to find 2-3 more CPA’s to assist. And their plan to purchase and move into a new building. from the response i saw from the group it seemed as if everyone and their families are using Frank for either their personal and/or business services and everyone had noting but rave reviews for Frank’s service. I currently do not use Frank’s services but look forward to if the situation arises, to work with Frank. If you now of anyone looking for any of these services or if you just have questions please contact Frank.
